RBK BASKETBALL LAUNCH
In 2025, Reebok set out to reclaim its place on the court by reentering the basketball space with the launch of Engine A—the brand’s first performance basketball shoe in over a decade (designed by Michael Hesterberg). This project showcases the creative direction and color strategy that helped shape Reebok’s return to the game.

Engine A debuted in the Silver Chrome colorway, drawing inspiration from Reebok’s iconic '90s Mobius design language. Featuring an exoskeleton upper for lightweight support and dynamic color blocking, the design uses Energy Red to highlight Reebok’s Energy Return System (ERS) and SuperFloat foam.

The second colorway, Pretty Gritty, was designed specifically for Angel Reese. Her signature "A" logo appears on the tongue and insole, while the bold mix of rich reds and bright pinks creates a confident, standout look—signifying Reebok’s commitment to empowering female athletes through expressive, unapologetic design.

The third concept, Solar Lime, pushes visibility and vibrancy to the forefront. With neon and alien green tones dominating the upper, this colorway is engineered to demand attention—on the court and under the lights.

Power Moves with Shaquille O'Neal
Engine A colorways were prominently featured in "Power Moves," a Netflix documentary that follows NBA legends Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson as they lead Reebok’s return to performance basketball.
